University Access

Students who meet some of the requirements listed below (RD 534/2024) are eligible for admission to undergraduate studies.

  • Students holding a Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification.
  • Students with Higher Vocational Training Technician, Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design and Higher Sports Technician qualifications.
  • Students from foreign education systems who can access university without the need to take the entrance exam.
  1. Students from education systems of European Union Member States or those of other States with which international agreements have been signed with regard to university access, on a reciprocal basis, provided that they meet the academic requirements of their education systems for access to their universities.
  2. Students who hold the European Baccalaureate Diploma.
  3. Those who have obtained the International Baccalaureate Diploma, issued by the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

These students will not need to obtain the official recognition of the qualification, diploma or study obtained or completed abroad in order to gain access to Spanish universities.

  • Students in possession of a qualification, diploma or study from foreign education systems recognised or declared equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Higher Technical Vocational Training qualification. (Included in the thirty-sixth additional provision of Organic Law 2/2006, of 3 May).
  • Students with university studies.

Students may directly access official university studies at Spanish universities:

  1. Those in possession of an official university degree (Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Technical Engineering, etc.).
  2. Those who have completed partial university studies in Spain or abroad, provided that at least 30 ECTS credits have been recognised. These students must also comply with the following requirement: if they do not obtain this recognition, they will be able to access Spanish universities under the same conditions as students without university studies from the same educational system.
  3. Those who hold a foreign university degree and have not obtained its recognition or declaration of equivalence in Spain.
  • Other access routes.

Access to official undergraduate university studies at Spanish universities is possible in accordance with the provisions of Chapter V:

  1. Persons over 25 years of age who pass the entrance exam established in article 28 of RD 534/2024.
  2. Persons over 40 years of age with work or professional experience in relation to education.
  3. Persons over 45 years of age who pass the entrance examination established in article 33 of RD 534/2024.
