Students from the Master's in Industrial Engineering visit a factory expansion project with the help of the company KREAN.
It was an activity related to several subjects that are being studied in the Master's degree and that the students really liked.
Students from the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering at Mondragon University participated in a special activity with the company KREAN. This engineering and architecture project development company is developing the expansion of the ULMA Architectural Solutions factory, and the students visited the construction site with representatives from KREAN.
During the visit, the students were able to see how the topics covered in the master's degree are put into practice. For example, how a project's design and calculations are performed, how structural design is adapted to urban planning conditions, how the construction process is designed, how foundations, structural elements, and enclosures are designed and built, etc.
All these topics are integrated into the master's degree program through several subjects: Industrial Construction and Urban Planning; Steel Structures and Reinforced Concrete; and Installations. And, of course, supplier management is essential for the effective development of projects, so the Project Management course also has a lot to do with this type of project.
In previous years, students of the Master's in Engineering have completed internships at KREAN, and current students may also have the opportunity to do so next year. Therefore, the visit to Oñati was very practical and motivating, as the students were able to see firsthand the types of projects they will soon be working on.
Thank you, Iratxe, Mikel, and Jose Ignacio, for your explanations; we learned a lot!
Master's in Industrial Engineering
This master's degree offers advanced and specialized training in the field of industrial technology and is offered on two campuses: Arrasate and Galarreta. Mondragon University is closely linked to industry, so many students complete internships and Master's Thesis projects in companies (this year, during the Master's Thesis, they received a monthly grant of €1,125). Upon completion of the Master's degree, this profile has a very high employability rate, with a 100% employment rate.
