From the Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Aitor Lizartza, coordinator of Mondragon Team Academy, and Apurva San Juan, LEINN graduate and Co-Founder & CEO at LUP, actively participated in the event, sharing their vision and experience in the field of social entrepreneurship and impact financing.

The event began with an institutional panel featuring prominent figures from the sector, including José Luis Martínez Donoso (Fundación ONCE), Jaime Iglesias Sánchez-Cervera (Special Commissioner for the Social Economy), Carmen Comos (CEPES), Mercedes Valcárcel (SpainNAB), and Aitor Lizartza Martín, representing Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

Throughout the day, discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities faced by Foundations, Associations, Special Employment Centers for Social Initiative, Social Insertion Companies, and Cooperatives regarding funding sources and impact investment.

As part of the event, four key questions were proposed for reflection and discussion:

  • Presentation of each participant and their type of organization.
  • What are the main obstacles faced by social economy organizations in accessing impact financing (e.g.: cost of financing, lack of guarantees, lack of knowledge, shortage of adequate financial offer, among others)?
  • In your opinion, what are the main reasons why this type of financing is not yet better known and used?
  • What differential elements does (or should) impact financing have (or should incorporate) to generate a real change in terms of sustainability and development of social economy entities? What key actions should be taken to promote the development of this type of financing?

The event concluded with a networking session, reinforcing collaborations to further promote high-quality social impact.

The Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, through Mondragon Team Academy, reaffirms its commitment to social innovation and impact entrepreneurship, contributing with its experience and knowledge to initiatives that seek to transform the economic and social ecosystem.

We will continue to promote the development of learning communities and strengthen impact entrepreneurship!
